I like this Coca Cola advert because it is very memorable. It was aired at Christmas of 2010 and all the features that are used to make this advert have stuck with me for 10+ years. The music to me is what makes this advert so memorable as it gets stuck in your head. Another key feature in this advert is the lighting. The lighting is mostly on the Coca Cola trucks as they are the main focal point (they're bright and attract your eyes).
I like this Apple advert firstly, because the song is very catchy, and it sells the product well. This advert is for the iPhoneX and the new Animoji's which are to send to your friends and family. The iPhoneX part of the advert is to show how good the phones camera is and how clear the sound is through AirPods and how portable they are, so they're good for exercise and other stuff.
At the time of its release, 'The Switch' was a really popular advert for Nike. The ad shows that anything is possible if you put the time in and work for it. The advert is to show Nikes genre of sport and their football boots. The ad is mostly filmed with a long depth of field (f/22) and has good lighting, especially when it was night or in the stadium.

This is a picture from the 'Grounded cafe and bars' instagram, showing one of their new meals. Whats good about this image is that its a close up of the food as that's all that needs to be seen. They've also got a good exposure and have used a shallow depth of field (an f/2.8 aperture). As well as that they've used a slow shutter speed ,as there is no motion, and a low ISO (1600). Theres not much to change about this photo apart from maybe adding a price or deal to entice people with a low price.

This is a picture taken from 'Disjointed's' instagram, which was taken from their store. It shows their new skateboard decks. There isn't anything I would change about this as they've taken it from their store so it already has prices and the measurements of each deck. What I would change about it though is have more intriguing, bright colours on the store.

This is taken from Pizzarova's instagram and it shows a Chorizo pizza. It's a close up image with good exposure and lighting from the left ( probably natural lighting from a window). They put some of the ingredients on the image swell to try and entice people as the ingredients shown are liked by most people. Overall, I wouldn't change anything apart from adding a price or a deal.

This McDonalds advert is for the new Travis Scott meal. The ad is filmed around a toy version of Travis Scott as he explains his meal. Theres good exposure in the ad and a shallow depth of field (f/2.8) and an ISO of about 1600 as there isn't any noise and its quite bright.
Unfair is an advert for Adidas, showing off their demon skin football boots. They've said that the boots are unfair as there is more curve than any other boot. They've appealed to both men and women in that they've shown men and women playing football in the boots. There is both high key and low key lighting in this ad as well as good exposure and a long depth of field (f/22).
This Dyson advert is showing a new vacuum and how it works with all its attachments. The lighting is very high key in this ad and the sound is very focussed on the vacuum. This ad is very appealing to people as it shows how the vacuum doesn't miss any dust or crumb and that it is designed to get to every spot in your house with ease, hence it being cordless. The camera is focussed of the vacuum the whole time and different apertures are used to capture different shots.
Camera Workshop

For this workshop, I took pictures of pedals and videos of me doing some focus pull shots. For the pedal pictures, I used a low depth of field (F 2.8) so that the front pedal is visible and the two in the back are blurred, this was for the bottom left picture. For the bottom right, I focussed on the back pedal so that the front two were blurred. The way I made these kind of pictures is by adjusting the focus ring on the end of the lens.
Product Storyboard and mood board

To make these images, I arranged the objects in a certain way, focused of a certain point and made the lighting purple. For the video, I messed around with some focus pull on three books. The idea was to focus on the closest books writing and then turn the focus wheel so it focussed on the furthest books writing.

Raw footage

A regulatory body takes complaints from the public or analyse ads that are about to enter the publics eye. They do this because of legal and ethical issues that people may have with the ad.
They look for these things in ads:
> Impartiality - Equal treatment of all
> Stereotyping - Over-generalized views about a particular group of people
> Use of language - Taste, decency and obscenity
> Freedom of Speech - Are opinions being censored?
> Defamation - A false statement about another that harms their reputation

The Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) is the sister organisation of the ASA and is responsible for writing the Advertising Codes.
Copyright is a type of intellectual property that gives its owner the exclusive right to make copies of a creative work, usually for a limited time. The creative work may be in a literary, artistic, educational, or musical form.
For when I first shot this footage, I used basic camera settings to get clear footage. Then, I edited the footage to improve ISO, exposure, and DoF as well as making the colours pop more. The type of shots I recorded were mainly focus pull and pans of the area. For example, the first shot in this video is a focus pull that I used for my 10 second instagram ad
Logging Data

I decided to log my footage this way because it is easy to navigate between clips. I filmed over 2 days and filmed behind the scenes, close up, focus pull, mid range and wide shots. To make it easier to find the right clips, I tagged the ones I liked as well as the music.

30 second jewellery ad
Instagram ad

These are two screenshots of my editing for both the ads. In the first one, I ordered the footage in the way I liked it and added an adjustment layer to make the colours more vibrant, then I added the backing music and faded in the companies logo and name. For the second one, I followed the same structure but it was just shorter.
Firstly, with the 30 second advert, I like how the music fits with the transitions between each clip although the transitions could be a bit smoother as it just cuts straight to the next clip. I like the lighting throughout the ad as there is good exposure in each clip but, the ones where it pans up to the sky could be better in that there is more blue in the sky so it isn't so dull. Also, I really like the colour change to the original footage as it is much more vibrant and it stands out way more. Finally, I think this advert is really good at showing off the product although there are points to improve throughout the ad.
Now, with the Instagram ad, I think it gets the point of nature jewellery across very well as it is short and sweet. The jungle ambience used fits the nature theme perfectly as you can hear birds tweeting and branches crunching. When the camera pans to the right, a sparkle is seen from the jewellery which was added to show how pure it is and the quality of the jewellery. Something to change about this is that you can see that the sparkle moves left to right at the end so you could try and make it transition smoother. Going back to my original point, this ad gets to the point and is really simplistic which is what makes it so effective. Finally, another thing that makes this advert effective is that it shows the owners Instagram and their logo which helps people who are interested in the product find where they can buy it.
Some things I would do differently if I was to do these adverts again is to plan the time and location of the shoot better as when we got to the location it was getting dark, started raining and there were much better and similar locations closer than Leigh Woods. Another thing I would try and do differently is to try and get our own ambience and actually record sound. Finally, we should have planned transportation ahead of time as we mostly waked to our location.
